Another Bad Day
I was able to get through 24 hours without a computer. It was difficult and I now know what addiciton feels like. Genaro said I was worse than a drug addict going through withdrawl. You never know how much you depend on the computer until you can't use it. Yesterday it was windy and my leg hit the metal side of the desk and I got shocked, the cords for the mouse and keyboard were also touching the metal and the computer froze and made a loud humming noise so I shut it off and when I turned it back on the mouse and keyboard were dead. Luckily I was able to buy a new mouse and key board and everything is working again today. As I was in the garage looking for a mouse to try out Ashley told me Alex and his friend were playing with fire on the side of the house. I go to the side of the house and Alex is running away and his friend is standing in a pit with a bunch of wood and sticks on fire next to the gas meter. I grab the hose and a few minutes later the fire is out, and there is so much smoke I can barely even see across the street. I don't know what to do with that kid anymore he is at the age where he knows what is right but peer pressure gets to him. Everything was great at the beginning of the school year he was in a class with 15 of the top 5th and 6th graders in the school and he loved it but a few weeks after the school year started they had to put all the 5th graders in another class because they needed an overflow class for 6th graders. So Alex got put into a class that he does not like with the friends I don't like him to hang around. . I am ready to pack up my trailer and move to the middle of nowhere. The thing that really upset Alex was that Jacob was on the other side of the wall playing with his toys when they started the fire. I just hope he will finally learn to stand up for himself and when the neighbor comes up with another bright idea like this he either stops him or tells someone. He knows what is right and I don't even want to think of what could have happened if that fire got out of hand with Jacob on the other side of that wall. We went through another bad choice that Alex and the neighbor made a few weeks ago. Hopefully he will look for other friends to play with at school it is just so hard when the kid right next door is such a bad influence. Well I am going to wrap this up I would like to take a nice long bath before bed. If anyone has any advice on this situation I would love to hear.

Wow, that fire thing is pretty serious. I think Alex needs to really stay away from that kid right now, and this is a perfect opportunity. I think you should tell them that because of what they did, they can't play with each other AT ALL for the next two months (or if you can, maybe even till the end of the school year?). Tell the other parents that you're punishing Alex so they won't think you're blaming their kid.
ReplyDeleteYou're right that Alex needs to learn to stand up for himself, and by him running away when you saw the fire, you know that he knew what they were doing was wrong, but with that last situation and now this, peer pressure is winning at the moment, and maybe he needs a little more time to mature before facing it.
I hope I helped. And don't you dare move, cuz I'll miss you. :)
